A couple of weeks ago, I suggested to the children that this summer they should be in charge of my fitness. They should make sure that I do some exercise everyday. They should make sure that I didn't eat a lot of junk and drink too much of my favourite fizzy drink. They basically were to be my personal trainers and unsurprisingly they thought the chance to boss Mummy around for an entire Summer was an opportunity too good to miss and so they both agreed to do this small little favour for me. I'd planned to sign them up to the new Summer Change4Life plan, and of course myself, but when we were asked if we'd like a sneak peek and that it was about short bursts of exercise I knew we had a winner for the summer fitness plan.
The pack arrived, along with some sports equipment for the children to play with (and me!) and we took it with us on a picnic before School broke up.
The plan this year is that you pick a card and on the reverse you do the "exercise" that it suggests, for ten minutes. Here is our favourite card, and not just because we are still singing Do You Wanna Build A Snowman!
Hopefully, the ten minutes of exercise three times a day will last for longer than the sausages on our picnic did... and come the end of the summer I'll have improved my fitness and the children will have learnt some new skills!
We were sent the pack and the sports equipment.
