Host a Roast - A Live Blog post

This is a live blog post today, giving you a detailed look into a normal Sunday in my house! Aunt Bessie's (you know the yummy food that Delia uses to cheat her way to amazing meals) have kindly given me some vouchers to buy some bits to have with our Sunday Roast and as added pressure we have invited my Mum over... she is the best cook that I know and she will know if something isn't right!

The menu is as follows;

Starter

Melon

Main

Roast Beef
Various Vegetables
Roast Potatoes
Yorkshire Puddings
Stuffing
Sausages wrapped in bacon

Pudding

To be decided... possibly ice cream, maybe an apple crumble...

As Daddy and I don't drink alcohol (I know I am this excitable without alcohol, can you imagine me if I was drinking?!) there will be plenty of squash, a bit of Fizzy Drink and a nice big pitcher or water.

So the time is 10am and thanks to a late night last night as it was Emma's (from Me The Man and The Baby) birthday I am only now eating a bacon sandwich and about to get dressed. So don't forget to check back later today and watch me and Daddy on Twitter during the day to find out what we are up to with the hashtag #hostaroast!

The time is now 11am and I have put the joint in at (10:39am) as this video proves...

Now off to send Daddy to work to borrow a chair so we can all sit at the table this afternoon...

11:30am Going with Top Ender to pick up Granny from her house, when Daddy gets back with a work chair. In the mean time making yorkshire puddings for Daddy as being a celiac means he can't eat any food made with flour containing wheat or gluten. As Delia sometimes cheats with Aunt Bessies things I thought it only fair to use her Yorkshire Pudding recipe too. Plus its always the one that I use...

Better peel him some potatoes for roasting too...

Will be stopping off at Morrisons and Asda and Tesco on the way back to purchase essential last minute supplies and a new black mac for my Mum.

Sometime between 11:30 and 2pm I basted the joint....

We made it to Asda and Morrisons, although Asda didn't have a black mac. Didn't stop my Mum though, she just brought another beige one!

Have suddenly remembered I was supposed to be making Roast potatoes for Daddy, he luckily realised and peeled some, but I had better get a move on and cool them!

As usual when I am making a Roast, I have forgotten that I have to cook the vegetables too. Everything is ready to go, so I had better a get a move on, or we won't be eating today at all...

2pm Granny and Top Ender are sitting at the table, ready to get started

2:09pm Worth reminding everyone that Daddy is giving a running commentary on his tweets! Granny is looking or rather amused!

2:45pm Well Dinner was served a bit late, but I think everyone liked it...

Why not take a chance and enter the competition on the Aunt Bessie's website to win an Ikea Kitchen and then maybe the next Host a Roast, can be cooked in your new Kitchen!
