Just before Christmas I was talking with Baby Boy about a company that wanted to send us some Megamind merchandise. Baby Boy is very keen on animated movies (as long as they aren't in the dark) and has been talking about Megamind for some weeks now. We had made the fatal error of showing him a teaser and a trailer for the film and all we have heard since is "Oh my Giant Blue Head!" along with mentions of how we should go to the cinema to see the film.
A few says later there was a knock at the door and as Baby Boy had been busy doing something else, he hadn't rushed to the door to the post man and so missed the parcel being delivered. It was as we were about to set off for school that I realised it was raining and that opening the parcel might be a good idea, as I knew that it contained Night lights, but more importantly an Umbrella which lights up! It wasn't until we were walking home that two of the Playground Mums noticed my umbrella. They wouldn't believe me when I said that it had been a posted gift and instead chose to believe it was a gift for those who had been to the premier of the film.
I just want to clear it up for those two particular Playground Mums that I have NOT been to the premier of the film and I haven't seen it yet either! If you haven't seen it yet either, then you can book tickets!
The night lights were originally shared out between Baby Boy and Top Ender, but one night we discovered all three of them under Baby Boy's bed (which is where they have stayed) and they only resurface at night when Baby Boy is sure that we aren't coming in to check on him any more!
There is a lot to do at the Megamind website for children (and parents) and Baby Boy and I have spent a lot of time printing off and colouring in pictures from the activity section and we will go and see the film soon... we just need to save up for the popcorn!
