Wahoo! It's the BritMums carnival time! I love hosting the carnival (or any carnival for that matter) because it means lots of blog posts being sent directly to me and means I can add lots of new blogs to my reader. This weeks carnival has a special theme of Fun for the family because you are all celebrating my birthday (which is tomorrow) and so here have a slice of cake, sit down and enjoy some posts!
| If you want to make this Gluten Free Chocolate Cake the recipe is really simple! |
Mums Party Place has made me some Flapjacks with her fabulous boys, although I think she and her family might of eaten all the flapjacks without saving enough for me... even though there were raisins in the mixture!
Instead of thinking about getting older (I'm only 27, but you know) Two become Four has listed some things that have been making her smile when life is being the sometimes devious mistress that it can be; It's a fun linky to join in with if you can.
Nadine at Juggle Mum has moved home and I think that her new virtual mansion has a spare bedroom for me. She didn't say that I could come and stay but her new home on the web is so clean and spacious I'm sure she wouldn't mind if we all went over for a party!
I did think that nobody was going to make me a birthday cake, but The Gingerbread House has made me a Thomas The Tank Engine one. I'm going to annoy everyone now by singing the theme tune all day and doing my Ringo impression.
With a subject close to my own heart Lisa at Hollybobbs has been working out how to survive a long car journey with a toddler. I might not be a toddler but with the amount of sugar I am planning on consuming at this party I will have the attention span of one, so you had all better pay attention on how to deal with me later when I'm on my sugar high!
Kerry at Multiple Mummy has made a great sensory bath for her children this week and I think that with all this wet weather we are having at the moment that it would be a great distraction for everyone!
Whilst the children are in the bath, Helen at KiddyCharts has some great reasons why we shouldn't be without our iphones, or in my case my Nokia Lumia... and erm, I do actually sleep with it next to my bed.
Fun as a Gran had a great experience with a local company that went above and beyond her expectations to make a birthday cake perfect for Bob (who like Daddy can't eat wheat or eggs.) I wonder if there is any left over as I wouldn't mid a slice either!
Becky has written a great poem about Mums and Party Checklists and I think that I will have to remember this when planning BB's birthday party which is in just two weeks! I don't think that it will matter about my party tomorrow as I won't be doing any clean up seeing as how we are going out to eat. Actually I had better go and book the restaurant before I forget!
There were some cookies for my party, but I'm pretty sure that Liz at The Mum Blog stole them all. I don't mind though as the guilt makes her make some nice toasties, so I think I might have to just pop over to her and get her to make me one. I'll have a cheese and tomato one please Liz!
After eating all this cake, cookies and toasties I'm pretty sure that I'm going to have to crack on with my fitness regime and at Family Budgeting there are some great ideas on how to get fit without breaking the budget. I already walk everywhere, but I'm thinking I might invest in a skipping rope!
And the last post today is from Baby Budgeting about finding your path. I always do a reflection on the past year when it's my birthday and look forward to what I hope to achieve in the next year. I think that tomorrow night when I'm thinking on what I could achieve this coming year I might be tempted to aim a little higher now!
And that's it for the Carnival/my Birthday Celebration. I hope you had a great time and found something great to read and don't forget to check the Schedule to find out where and when the next Britmums carnival is being held.
