When I was young my Mum would always let me watch old films with her, I think that she was using it as research so that when we played Trivial Pursuits she would be able to answer all the Pink Questions! So it was that I recognised the name Dry Rot when I read it in the Milton Keynes Theatres programme for upcoming shows because I had seen the film when I was younger although I couldn't remember fully what the film was about.
The show gets it's name form the dry rot in the stairs which catch out the actors several times during the play, but the show is actually about a bent bookie who with two accomplices come up with a get rich quick scheme of stealing a Racehorse... I know, but I didn't write it okay?! The thing is even though this farce is cheesy and has an oh so 50's humour its been so badly produced that my Mum and I actually walked out of the theatre at intermission.
The are are a lot of Famous people in the show, Liza Goddard (who my Mum said was married to both Colin Baker and Alvin Stardust), Gareth Hale (The Hale half of Hale and Pace), Gemma Bissix (Eastenders and Hollyoaks), Neil Stacey (Duty Free), Andrew Paul (The Bill) and Steven Blakeley (Heartbeat) but due to some very bad over acting, some terrible directing and a lot of poor comedic timing, not even they could save this show.

The show is at Milton Keynes until the 8th September and it continues on tour after and whilst it isn't the worlds best show it might be your cup of tea. If you do go and see it can you tell me how it ends as that's the one thing that I wish I remembered about the film!
We were given two tickets to the show, thanks to Milton Keynes Theatre.
