With Top Ender and Big Boy both at School all day I've been discovering the joys of uninterrupted housework. Actually, it's rather lush being able to make everything neat and tidy and having it stay that way for longer than five minutes, I'd forgotten what that was like!
So the chaps at Aldi asked if I'd like to do a little comparison test between their Washing up Liquid called Magnum (I thought that was an ice-cream) and Fairy, which is the brand that I normally use. They are rather excited because Which? (you know the consumer magazine) did some tests recently and awarded it a Best Buy after comparing it to other brands.
Aldi sent a box with the two washing up liquids and some rubber gloves for me and I set about doing the dishes. There is normally a tonne of washing up to be done in our house because we like to use every plate, piece of cutlery and pan when making something simple and you should see the dishes we use when we are making something complicated!
So here are two photos of my washing up. One of them is Magnum and one of them is Fairy. Which is which do you think?
Well, the Top is Fairy and the bottom is Magnum. I didn't actually notice any difference between the two washing up liquids, they both lathered up well, they both cleaned the dishes and they both lasted for the entire length of me washing the dishes. The only difference that I could find was the Fairy was green, that the Magnum was blue and that the Magnum costs 59p (500ml) whilst Fairy costs £1.25 (433ml).
It's great that the washing up liquid is so much cheaper, but is still the same quality that people expect from named brands. I often try own brands in food, but tend not to with cleaning products, but after trying this bottle of washing up liquid I think that I might be temped to with cleaning products too.
We were sent a box from Aldi of washing up liquid.
