Top Ender is a big fan of characters who combine both fashion and being themselves, partly because she loves fashion and is still determined to be a fashion designer and partly because at nearly nine she is at that age where knowing that it is okay not to fit in is an okay message to hear from a cartoon but not your Mother. Top Ender likes the girls of Monster High and so when I was able to surprise her with the DVD to watch after School the other night she was really pleased.
The press release for the DVD says;
"Monster High™: Ghouls Rule features the monstrously memorable characters from the famous freaky High School on their mission to win back Halloween after years of staying inside and shying away from celebrations. After learning that ghouls and “Normies” once loved to spend Halloween together Frankie Stein and her pals decide to turn back the clock and use the night to celebrate their ghoulish individuality. Joining Frankie Stein on her quest is the perfectly-imperfect Draculaura, Clawdeen Wolf and Abbey Bominable – all daughters of history’s legendary monsters. With their killer hairstyles, freakish fashion and super talents the girls are fearlessly determined to win back 31st October for its rightful cause."
Top Ender thought it was great, she loved the story line and how the characters we would think of as being all over Halloween normally hid away but that they got to be what they wanted to be and of course the resulting changes. Big Boy sat and watched the film with Top Ender whilst eating their after school snack and whilst Big Boy isn't really the target audience (being too young and a boy) he thought that it was funny, Halloween spooky instead of scary and Top Ender just loved it.
I have three copies to give away, which will be perfect for a Halloween treat for someone!
