Crunchums - Review

The first thing I do when looking at a food or snack product, is to flip the pack over to look at the back. There I normally see a box like the one in the photo. First I look at the little yellow box that says what allergens are in the food. Secondly I read through the ingredients to double check that what is in the allergen box is true. It's not that I don't trust the companies, it's just I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Cadbury Crunchums Review

I was rather surprised to see that the new Cadbury Crunchums are gluten free. Yes, the allergen box says that it may contain wheat, but that is more than likely because the Maize grows in a field next to a Wheat field, some contamination is possible. I also know that Daddy can tolerate a very small amount of Wheat and Gluten (very small, like a splash of Vinegar small) so the words "May Contain" for me means Daddy can eat these.

Cadbury Crunchums Review

It was only because I thought I recognised the cereal part of the Chocolatey snack as something I'd previously brought (Corn chips) that I picked up this packet to check the back, and I'm glad I did. There is no huge sign on them that says "GLUTEN FREE!" and yet they are, and this means that Daddy and a lot of my friends can eat these, and that is actually big news, so it should be shouted from the front of the packets.

Crunchums - Review

The snack is a really nice combination of savoury and sweet and whilst Daddy and I drove down to Heathrow, Daddy made short work of them. These of course aren't just for those who follow a gluten free diet, so have a try if you're looking for a sweet and savoury snack this week.

My Mum brought me these Crunchums... do I need to declare that?!
