What We Are Eating W/C 2 January 2016

Healthy Eating.

Those are the key words that I have to remember every week when I meal plan from now on. Don't get me wrong, the meals I have planned in the past have been healthy. I have the pat on the backs from the Nutritionists and Dieticians to prove it, but now it's also about losing weight for me and Daddy. It's about reducing cholesterol for BB, it's about keeping hormones in check for Top Ender and BB and me if I'm honest.

It's about balance and flavours and trying to keep to a budget.

A Birthday Salad from a Few Years Back- it was yummy!

With all that in mind, here is this weeks Meal Plan!

Saturday - Pizza

Daddy is making Pizza again for us, I had a lush pizza the other day with Spinach and Basil which I am going to get Daddy to recreate and the rest of the family will no doubt go with their own versions of Hawaiian pizzas.

Top Ender's Birthday AKA Sunday - Pork Chops with Apple Sauce and Yorkshire Puddings

In our home it's the tradition that you get to pick what we all have as a main meal on your Birthday. Top Ender decided today that we're going to have Pork Chops with Apple Sauce, but also requested that we have Yorkshire Puddings, the girl knows her own hearts!

Meatless Monday - Omelets

I'm combining a Meatless Monday with a Carb free meal today so that when we go and see BB's consultant I can show that I'm trying!

I had a bit of a meltdown in the car the other day. I got myself all worked up having an imaginary conversation with the Consultant.

Yes, I'm the sort of woman who has imaginary conversations with herself.

Anyhoo, I realised at the end of it that despite hating the fact that BB has Diabetes and knowing that I just have to get on with it because there is nothing I can do about it, I am allowed to be angry and annoyed about it. I now just need to learn how to process that into something positive.

Tuesday - Tuna Melts

I was sitting writing this meal plan, and I really, really, really wanted a Tuna Melt. So I thought I'd add it to the meal plan for this week.

Now I just need to decide what sort of bread, any extra vegetables I'm going to sneak in and see what the rest of the family think.

I'm going to use Fresh Tuna, so that we have a portion of oily fish as apparently the canned stuff doesn't count as oily.

Wednesday - Meal With My Mum

I love my Mum so much, I'm so grateful to her for all she has done for me and my Sister and for all that she will do.

She and I both have Healthy related goals this year and so together we're hopefully going to keep each other on the straight and narrow.

With this in mind, I'm not planning a meal for tonight, but will sort something out during Wednesday with my Mum. I'm going to see if we can do something at my house for a few weeks, to see if we can try to keep food healthy but I have no idea if that will work.

Thursday - Posh Fish Finger Sandwiches

Quick and easy is the order of the day for a Thursday night with the after School clubs for Tops and BB.

Tonight, we thought we'd go with Fish Fingers in Pitta Bread with plenty of Salad. Okay, plenty of Salad in mine.

BTW The Pitta Bread and the fact the Fish Fingers will hopefully be home made is what makes them posh!

Friday - Sausages and Mash

I love Sausages and Mash and thought we deserved a treat this week. I'm going to plan to serve mine with peas and the rest of the family will no doubt request Baked Beans, because they are epitome of bad taste and bad choices.

That's what we're eating for our Main Meals this week, how about you?
