What We Are Eating W/C 27th February 2016

Image
I'm quite sad that we are almost at the end of our Fish Month. However, I now know what the Children do and don't like taste wise, texture wise and what is just too much of a hassle for me to make! We have just two dishes left and then we'll take stock and look at what other fish dishes we'll have in rotation in the future.

The Den Wall

Image
We're going to change the den. It has had the Marvel Heroes poster up for almost two years now and whilst it is great fun and a conversation starter for every Missionary that has the pleasure of coming to our house for a meal, it's not what we want our den to look like any more. We want something which isn't just for me and BB. So we've all been thinking about what we could do in the den. There were plenty of ideas. We could paint the walls various different colours. We could wallpaper. We could stick up stickers. We could create shelves and shelves of books and board games and computer games. We could get a massive piece of art or create a massive piece of art together.

Titan Charging Cable #Review

As almost everyone I know knows, I'm a technology addict. As are my Children and even our Cats. Don't get me wrong, we can live without our laptops, tablets and phones. For me however after a day or so I'm starting to wonder what's going on in my friends lives. I wondering what my house is doing if I'm not in it. I'm wanting to share what we're doing, what I'm doing.

A Finger Print Tree Thank You - #WordlessWednesday #Linky

(Ssssh, I know this is supposed to be wordless but I made two of these for the Primary President and the 1st Counsellor who were released when I was called, ahh read my " A New Calling " post from the other day to find out more about that! Anyhoo, I got all the Children and Teachers to put a fingerprint on and presented it to them this past Sunday. I think they liked them! )

What We Are Eating W/C 20th February 2016

The last full week of eating Fish every night, and I'm really quite excited. We have some lovely meals this week, some which I am looking forward to, some which Daddy isn't looking forward to and some that I'm scared about making! This month has been a HUGE learning curve for me with regards to preparing and cooking fish, but I've loved it and I think the Children have too.

Fridge Soup

There are always a lot of vegetables in the bottom of our fridge. I like to have a big selection to pick from and for the most part I use them up each week. Occasionally however, there are vegetables in my fridge that need to be used up or are well, the sort of vegetables if you were slightly more discerning than me you'd want to throw away. However I'm the sort of person who doesn't like to throw them away. I mean obviously if they are way past their best I try to remember to put them into the green bin (here in Milton Keynes we have a Green Bin for Grass and Food Waste, Pink Sacks for Paper and Card etc, a Blue Box for glass and black bin bags for all other waste.) but occasionally I do forget.

How To Be A Grown Up

Image
I've been thinking in recent weeks about what it means to be a Grown up. I mean I know that I am a grown up, I have Children and responsibility and I even purchased myself a new Sofa which is, I think the most grown up thing I've ever done! However I have a penchant for Socks, I spend far too much time giggling when someone says something slightly rude (the lady at training the other night said "Do do this..." and I nearly wet myself giggling because she said do do) and if I'm perfectly honest I'm probably only as mature as an eight year old... So, I decided to come up with some How to be a Grown Up Rules and I present to you my thoughts! I spoke with a couple of friends around my age about this. I then spoke with a couple of friends who are slightly older than myself. I then spoke with a couple of friends who are much older than me. It was then that it hit me. Nobody has a clue what they are doing.

The Window PC Scamming Telephone Calls

Image
I'm lucky enough to understand a bit about Computers. I'm also lucky enough that I understand a bit about stupid idiots that call me intent on scamming people who aren't so intelligent about Computers. I'm also very lucky that over the last couple of weeks everyday someone has called me from an International number with regards to a problem that I may be facing with my Windows computer. Lastly, I'm lucky enough that I like winding up people who are trying to scam me.

A New Calling

You've probably heard me mention in the past, that at Church I'm part of Primary. I was a Primary Teacher, and then I became a Primary Counsellor and really this just means that I'm able to spend my Sunday with the Children teaching them aspects of the Gospel. Well, attempting to teach them. I swear, they end up teaching me a lot more than I teach them. Anyway.

What We Are Eating W/C 13th February 2016

As you can probably guess, the Children are getting really really used to trying different types of fish. This is so good, as I said in my blog post at the start of the month about why we were eating a different fish every day, I want the Children (and to a certain extent my husband and I!) to get used to eating different fish, get used to different tastes and textures and get them eating a wider variety of fish as Cod (and Cod like fish), Salmon and Prawns get boring week after week!

What We Are Eating W/C 6th February 2016

A full week of Fish dishes. If you haven't read my post on why we're eating fish every day in February (apart from on Mondays) then have a look here and maybe let me know some of your favourite fish dishes using different types of fish! Saturday - Crab Linguine I love Crab, I have done since I was quite little and you could often find me in Cromer buying Fresh Crabs caught that morning with my Grandparents. I've planned on only adding a little crab to the dish because it's just introducing everyone else to Crab, but it'll have garlic, onion and possibly tomatoes and a tiny amount of chilli.

Don't Lean Back! #Review

Every week at Church, after the Sacrament service has finished, I go to the primary end of the building. This is where the Children go after the service for their Sunday School lessons and I'm lucky enough to get to teach them during Sharing Time, and sing with them during Singing Time and just generally hang out with them.. although I'm sure really I'm supposed to be setting a positive example not one of I'm just a big kid! Anyway. Every week without fail I tell at least three Children to stop rocking back on their chair and I'm sure there are three times as many who I either don't see, or who stop rocking because I've told one of the others to stop! It drives me crazy and always has done.

Funny Moments - January 2016

Image
Every so often I share on Facebook, short tales of funny moments that have happened in my life. I apparently live in a British Sitcom. These things are things that do not warrant a full blog post, but I've decided that I'll collect them together in a blog post and post once every few months so that we'll never forget these stories which make us laugh so much and hopefully will make you laugh too! ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Big Boy was feeling a little  obstructed  and so he was off to sit in the bathroom for a bit to help see if he could move things along. I knew that he could be in there for a while, so suggested he might want to take his Tablet with him. He could set it up on the clothes hamper and continue to watch his Video. BB declined stating;

Why I Will Continue Posting on Facebook About Going To The Gym

Image
A while back, someone I'm friends with on Facebook posted a meme picture stating that it is possible for people to go to the gym without posting about it on Facebook. I took offence. Why? Well, because when I go to the gym I tend to update my Facebook or Twitter status with a "I've been to the gym" or even post a post workout Selfie to my Instagram account... which links to both my Facebook and Twitter accounts. And why do I do this?
