What We Are Eating W/C 10 April 2021

This last week I was sick. That isn't really a good way to open a post about food, but Flyfour came upstairs and said that he wasn't going to make the Salmon that I had scheduled as there was some chicken in the fridge that needed to be used up (date wise) and so he was making that.

Spicy Chicken with Potatoes

The reason he knew it was the Salmon we were supposed to be eating, was because he checked the blog. This made me realise three things. One my family really try to get out of eating fish at EVERY opportunity. Two my husband knows where I keep information for the family and Three, I so love him.

Saturday - Nachos

My family love Nachos, well the way that Flyfour makes them, and so that's what they we are having tonight. Well really it's because I want to use up the two half-open bags of Mince in the freezer, but the rest of the family don't need to know that!

Sunday - Roast Chicken

Again, Flyfour cooks at the weekends and he's a fan of making a roast on a Sunday. Nobody is upset about this, as he's very good at gluten-free Yorkshire puddings!

Monday - Salmon and Noodles

I was ill last week so we didn't eat the Salmon I had planned. I figured we'd have it tonight as after two days of meat I'm really after something that I'd enjoy!

Tuesday - Casserole with Mash and Dumplings

A quick casserole, but it'll take a couple of hours in the oven when I get in. Luckily, the children won't be bothered about eating late because there will be dumplings and everything is forgiven if there are dumplings.

Wednesday - Veggie Burgers and Chips

Veggie Burgers, chips and beans will be what the children have, but as I'm really not a fan of beans it'll be salad and veggie burgers for me.

Thursday - Pasta

I feel like pasta. No idea what, but I'm sure I'll work it out by the time I come to cook!

Friday - Gammon Shanks with Mash and Green Beans

The good news is that Flyfour will be home today, so we will sit down and eat together, which is why I've made it a bit "special". Hopefully, we'll enjoy the meal as the shanks are in a Honey Mustard sauce (my favourite!) and I may even be tempted to garlic or lemon up the beans!

So that's what we're eating this week. How about you?

  1. Oh no! I hope you are feeling better now. It did make me chuckle about your family and how they try and get out of eating fish. I hope you get your salmon this week. The Nachos sound so good. A real Saturday night meal. x
