The February Meal Plan

Every February I plan a food challenge.

I'm well aware that the rest of the family merely tolerate these adventures, but the point is that it gets us out of a rut with regards to the food we are eating, it helps us to be more mindful and it also encourages some of the family (cough Top Ender and Flyfour cough) to try something a little out of their comfort zone.

Okay, so at times a LOT out of their comfort zone.

Flyfour and Top Ender, two of the loves of my life who also are right pains when it comes to meal times!

I've been thinking about the February challenge for 2021 for what seems like months now and came up with an idea so simple that I'm not sure why I've not come up with it before.

This February, every meal we eat will be based upon just 16 different ingredients, which will make shopping 100 times easier. I'm not including things that I count as basic pantry items like eggs, butter, bread, flour, cheese, herbs, spices and milk.

The ingredients are;

Potatoes
Pasta
Rice

Cod
Chicken
Beef
Bacon

Cauliflower
Broccoli
Carrots
Peas

Lettuce
Cucumber
Tomatoes

Onions
Mushrooms

As you read those ingredients, you probably came up with several meals yourself, so I know that February is going to be really easy to meal plan for!

    What a grea idea just using 16 ingredients. I think I can come up with a few meals already. It sounds like your shopping is going to be so easy. Good luck x
