What We Are Eating W/C 23rd January 2016

I'm really excited for our meals this week, I'm not sure why. I guess, as I've been planning the meals so far in advance (well an entire month) that the meals this week have excited me!

And with regards to Sunday, a couple of weeks ago, during Family Home Evening, the Children and I were talking about how we could do service on a Sunday and we thought that it would be great if we could invite the Missionaries round to share a meal with us... so we have!

Saturday - Spaghetti Bolognese

I really love Spaghetti Bolognese. It's one of my favourite meals, it's so simple to make, it's easy to make and best of all?

Spaghetti Bolognese

It's got SPAGHETTI in it!

Sunday - Missionaries - Chicken Roast

I've said it is a Chicken Roast, but if I am perfectly honest, we might end up doing a Beef Roast again because the one we had last week was AMAZEBALLS. You know when you haven't had something for a while, and then you have it and you realise that you love it? Well, that is how we felt about the Beef Roast.

Meatless Monday - Cauliflower Cheese with Something Nice!

The other day, Daddy and I were talking about the next challenge we are putting the family under and Daddy said that he was pleased about it because he thought we'd get a lot out of it.

Like last year, he discovered that he loved Sweet Potatoes, he recently discovered he likes a small amount of Parsnip and at Christmas he found out that he was also a fan of Cauliflower Cheese!

Honestly, the man should listen to me more often.

Tuesday - Defrost Your Own

Every so often, when we are having a meal, we have a portion or two of leftovers. Sometimes I incorporate these into another meal, have them as my own lunch or if for whatever reason the meal I had planned doesn't get cooked or isn't fancied, then I just simply offer something from the freezer.

Tonight we're doing that, only everyone is fending for themselves!

Wednesday - One Pot Devilled Sausages And Macaroni

My lovely friend Alison posted a cute recipe that she had found for One Pot Devilled Sausages and Macaroni and she thought that it would be tasty BUT she wanted to make sure that it was before she made it for her family.

She has some great meals and has asked for a few of my recipes in the past, so I thought I'd try this one for her and we're having it tonight!

Thursday - Minced Beef HotPot

When I made the upside down Shepherd's Pie last week, there was a lot of mince beef left over. I took some of the potatoes from the Sunday Roast that hadn't been used (but had been earmarked to make soup with) and made a couple of Hotpots for the Children.

I'll probably have soup and Daddy can fend for himself!

Friday - Leftovers!

We were going to have the Sticky Sausages today, but Daddy had decided he wanted that for his birthday, I had decided that instead we'd have a Bourguignon, but I changed my mind again and decided we'd have some more leftovers!

Leftover Fake Away with Chips, or whatever else is hiding in the freezer... I need the space for my Fish!

So that's what we're eating this week. How about you?
