Early Morning Seminary

Members of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints aged between 14 and 18, get to go to Seminary. Seminary is this wonderful class, which in a lot of places is held first thing in the morning. They go to learn about theology and the four-year course goes over the Standard Works, so The Old Testament, The New Testament, The Book of Mormon and Doctrine and Covenants, and from what I understand from my friends who grew up in the Church, they learn a lot about themselves too.

Tops was due to start this past September, and with her recent ASD diagnosis, we weren't sure if Seminary was the right thing for her. Well, that's not quite true, we weren't sure if early morning Seminary classes were the right thing for her.

Our Bishop is a wonderful man and he knew that we were struggling with the issue of if Tops should take the Home Study course, the daily classes or if maybe she should just skip it altogether (Which neither Tops or I wanted her to do!) and so he asked if we would like him to go over how everything would work, seeing as how until quite recently he was the Seminary teacher for our ward.

Of course, as you have probably guessed, Tops decided to go ahead with Early Morning Seminary after her counsel with Bishop, Flyfour and I and a lot of prayer. I half wanted Top Ender not to go, because I really love having my not so early morning Morning Miracle, followed by a leisurely breakfast with the children altogether.

Then again, as I said it is held really early in the morning, in fact, the class that Top Ender is part of starts at 6:40 am Monday to Friday and finishes at 7:30 am, which means it is the perfect time for me to take a walk around the lake that is almost opposite the chapel and get some exercise in!

I think the only downside to this is that having had my children four years apart, I'll be doing these early-morning seminary runs for EIGHT YEARS!
