What We Are Eating W/C 16th May 2020

I swear that everything is speeding up these days, I don't know if it is because all the days seem the same in lockdown, or if it is because of my age, or even if it is because the world really is speeding up. All I do know is that I don't actually mind that much, but if the world could slow down a little, it might allow me to catch up with some housework!

Ploughman's Lunch

Well, whilst the world is hopefully going a little slower this weekend, here is what we are eating!

Saturday - Chicken Fajita's

When I was in Aldi the other day, looking for frozen carrots of all things, I found a packet of frozen Chicken fajita mix and thought it would be a fab meal for the children to make together for us to eat as it is just a case of stir-frying the mix (and add a few extra peppers and onions!) and letting everyone else serve themselves!

Sunday - Sausages and Mash

Despite us having to quickly change plans on Dan Jon's birthday about what we were eating for our main meal (Dan Jon may have been sick after spending a little too much time in the VR world!) and Dan Jon and Top Ender picking Sausage and Mash, we're still having it today because we all love Sausages and Mash!

Monday - Fish Finger and Chip Butties

I was trying to think of a fish dish that everyone would be happy with, so it was Fish Finger Sandwiches which I then thought if we had Fish Fingers and chips and a couple of slices of bread each we could make butties and in our house if it comes with bread, everyone is happy!

I'll give everyone a side Salad to get some veggies in, but I think the children might just opt to have a bowl of peas with their meal. Who knows, maybe both!

Tuesday - Pizza

We had such lovely Pizza's last time, that we're doing it again this week. I've even remembered to get the children's favourite ingredients in. Ham and Pineapple for Dan Jon, BBQ Chicken and Sweetcorn for Top Ender, cheese, cheese and more cheese for me and bits of everything for Flyfour!

Wednesday - Lamb Chops with Herby Diced Potatoes

Top Ender loves Herby Diced Potatoes and I showed her recently how to make them, so guess who is in charge of our evening meal tonight! That's right me. No, jokes it's Top Ender and me, and we're going to rock the dinner. Who knows I might even be brave and show Top Ender how to make Cauliflower and Broccoli Cheese to go with the meal.

Thursday - Ponyo Noodles

Flyfour is out at work today, and so the children and I will be enjoying one of our most favourite meals, Ponyo Noodles! We love how simple it is, how tasty it is and the fact that it's rather simple to make is an added bonus!

Friday - Home Made and Gluten-Free KFC

It has been a very long time since I made gluten-free KFC, but I figured tonight was as good as any to dust off my skills. Really I just really want KFC and this is the only way I'm going to get it!

So how is lockdown treating you, and what are you eating with your family?
