No don't worry this isn't a blog post about people who make keepsakes out of Placenta's (People do it, there is this Teddy Bear if anyone wants to look) but is instead a lovely carnival of the 2011 MAD's Finalists in the two categories Craft and Pregnancy! If you would like to read the Carnivals of the other finals, then head over to The MAD's website as they will all be linked up over there!
So let's get on with it! Shall we start with the Craft finalists? Each finalist was asked to send a post that showcased their blog and the sort of things that you can find on their blog at any given time and they didn't disappoint!
From Red Ted Art we have How to... Make an Octopus out of Kids' Tights This is such a fab idea, allowing you to make a toy out of clothing that you might want to keep and there is even a suggestion that it could be a great New Baby Gift so all those pregnancy blog finalists friends should take note!
From The Imagination Tree we have DIY: Rain Stick Another fab crafty suggestion to do with your children allowing you to make those really cool Rain Stick Noise Makers that seem to grace a lot of music boxes across the world. Can you please just not all wish for rain on the same day?
From NurtureStore we have Flower craft for kids Several fantastic ideas on how to create everlasting flowers as a gift for the special people in your lives. The suggestions are not only pretty but they are great for children of all ages, even big ones like me!
From Mary Poppins (Home Sweet Home) we have The Chest Of Drawers Makeover, and I have to say that this is one of the prettiest chest of Drawers I have ever seen. It's nice to be crafty for yourself as well as children and I know from having read this blog before that Mary finds comfort in her crafting as I am sure you will too.
From Never Plain Jane we have Do you believe in fairies. Here is a craft to help keep the innocence of childhood alive just a little longer, and is truly magical. What started with a fairy door appearing just above the skirting board has started a series of letters from a Fairy called Tabitha to Miya and has helped Miya to improve her handwriting so she can leave thank you notes for the gifts she receives!
Now on to the Five Pregnancy Blog Finalists. They were also asked to send a post that best showcased their blog and the sort of things that you can read on their blog if you were to hop on over there now!
From A Place of my Own we have #RANT Did you notice that it was all in uppercase letters? This is why you should never ever annoy a pregnant woman. Or any woman ever really...
From Is There A Plan B we have Dear Diary. Or what I haven't been saying. Reading this post you can tell they are real extracts from a diary as the excitement, the worry, the nervousness of should we or shouldn't we add to our family is all there.
From I Heart Motherhood we have Pee on a Stick and as I read this post I could see so many of the things that I would think about before I went to sleep when I found out I was pregnant. I think that this post is a great read for all Mums to be to see that their worries are normal!
From Simply Hayley we have Sibling Love. This post shows how it isn't just pregnancy or labor that you worry about when you are having a child, but how the family dynamics will change and how in the grand scheme of things everything will fit.
From Circus Queen we have Clothes From Gran, this post really touched me, as having recently gone through my own children's clothes and then seeing the sentiment that the outfits that have been passed down to Adele and The Diva I am hoping that I too will be able to relive some special memories in the future!
So now you know who the finalists are in these two categories why not go and take a look at the finalists in the other categories including the Family Fun Category that I am a Finalist in? Hint Hint...
