Marriage Is Awesome!

Today is mine and Flyfour's 18th Wedding Anniversary.

I can honestly say that meeting Flyfour and managing to somehow be charming enough that he fell in love with me was the best thing I've ever done in my life. Genuinely, whilst there wasn't any real trickery involved, I am so happy that Flyfour and I managed out of the billions of people on Earth to meet each other, to realise that we loved each other and on top of all that and that we then managed to work out we both wanted to spend the rest of our lives together, well actually not just all our lives, but all of eternity together*.

Flyfour is the best friend I ever could have asked for but didn't know I needed. He is the best husband, father, cheerleader and everything else that my family and I could ever want or need and hopefully I'm the best for him too!

Together we have created a life that allows us both to be the best people we can be, to allow us to grow and to do good in the world. We hope that we are also helping our children to be the best people that they can be, we're all trying to make good and ethical choices and helping others along the way.

I'm lucky. Being married to Flyfour is actually super easy and so I probably have a view of marriage that is slightly rose-coloured, but I also know that we do work at our marriage.

We balance each other.

We strengthen one another.

We make one another feel safe.

We love each other.

Flyfour and I both have faith.

We both believe that we have a loving Heavenly Father who has a plan for us and we both place this as an important part of our family life. We use our faith to strengthen us, to refine us, to help us to grow and smooth out those rough edges.

Marriage is part of our Heavenly Father's eternal plan and we are so grateful that it is because, in our experience, Marriage is awesome.
